In Case of Tea Shortage...

I've been rather busy the past couple weeks & haven't really had a chance to blog, but I wanted to quickly share this with you before I forget to do it again! Just a fun little project I did a couple weeks ago for my sweet mother-in-law who loves tea and got me "into" it as well.

I only needed a few supplies to make this... a 5x7 frame with glass, sheet of patterned paper (scrapbooking), a spoon, ribbon & a tea bag.

To make it, first, I typed out my phrase, "In case of Tea Shortage... Break Glass!" and arranged it how I wanted it to appear, then I printed right onto my patterned paper and cut it to size. Next I emptied half of the tea from the bag so it didn't bulge & risk breaking the glass; I made sure there was plenty left in the bag so it still looked full. I quickly snipped off the original tea tag & made a custom tag for the tea bag. Once that was finished, I adhered the bag and tag to the paper and put it in the frame. To finish it…

Scraplift LO for NDS

I have a clean house and a new scrapbooking area to play in - what a great combination for NSD! Now if I can just get the kids to behave, I'll be all set! ;)

I thought I'd start the day off with a layout I did a few weeks ago. It was hard to get the coloring to come our right and some of my papers (like the yellow journaling block) look a lot darker in this pic than they do in real life. Trust me, it's all very well balance IRL! ;) I hand cut the flowers out of patterned paper and cut the title, brackets & journaling block using SCAL.

Interesting fact about this layout: I did it for a scraplift challenge that was due the next morning... the problem was, I didn't start on it until after midnight! I did the unthinkable for a mother of two very active little boys... I stayed up until 4:30 a.m. to finish the layout, take pics of it and post it to the message board! (the reason for the bad lighting for my pic) Crazy, I know!!! But it sure…
