National Camera Day

For those of you who don't know, today is National Camera Day!

I've been wanting a DSLR for long time and my dear husband surprised me on Mother's Day by letting me get the Nikon D40! I'm in love with the thing - it's so wonderful! I'm still learning a lot of things about it and am trying to actually understand what I'm doing with all this aperture and shutter speed stuff! My brother has been a big help to me though (thanks!). I love taking pictures of my precious little boys and having a great camera makes it so much more enjoyable! I hope to post some of my pictures soon. But for now...

Happy National Camera Day!

Cookie Thieves

Once upon a time, there were two little cousins born only 5 days apart. They were instant buddies.

One day while playing at Gramma's house, they both discovered a pan of freshly baked Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies. Baby S. looked at Baby K. and both knew what they had to do... Quick as a flash, they both grabbed a cookie and took a bite before anyone could stop them!

The law enforcement officers (aka: "Mommy") quickly closed in, but the damage had already been done. Both babies pleaded 'not guilty', although the evidence on Baby S.'s face was overwhelming.

Gift Bag Tent

Several weeks ago, I was asked to make something "homemade" for a gift basket. After debating over several things, I decided on Fried Chicken Coating Mix. Of course, since I love papercrafts, I had to package it creatively! I designed this little "tent" to house the mix...

You can find the recipe (which you must try!) on my other blog, Capture the Little Things at Home.

If you're interested in making a gift bag tent, you will need...

1 piece of cardstock, cut 6-1/2 inches X 11 inches

2 pieces of patterned paper (PP)
*PP1: cut to 6-1/2" x 3-1/2"
*PP2: cut to 6-1/2" x 2"

Small wire clip

1. From one end cardstock piece, score & fold at 3-1/2", 5-1/2", 9".

2. Adhere PP1 to bottom 3-1/2" section of CS.

3. Adhere PP2 to top 2" section of CS.

If desired, adhere recipe & recipe name as shown below

4. Adhere gift item to inside of the tent.
(Mine was a powdered mix in a little ziploc baggie and I…
