Card: Flying Birthday Wishes

Image
I designed this cards for one of my nephews. The clouds and sun are from Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge for the Cricut, if I remember right. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got the airplane image. You can find other fun airplanes by search for "airplane sketch", "airplane drawing", "airplane clipart", etc. For the airplane, I simply printed it on green paper and then cut it out. Covered the number "2" with glitter before adhering it. "Happy birthday" was printed in  Cheryl's Luv Bug font.

Father's Day Card Collection

Image
Father's Day is this Sunday, so I've gathered some of the cards I've made in years past, including one from this year. my post featuring this card includes a free ".studio" download As is usually the case, I forgot that I actually have  to depend on the US postal system to deliver a card, so I had to rush to throw together this card for my father-in-law this year... To the dear fathers in my life and my sweet husband, "Happy Father's Day! I love you!"

Card: Country Snowman Digital Stamp

Image
I wish I could say that this card was my original idea, but it wasn't.... I got the inspiration from Pinterest. I did make some changes to it, however. The snowman was so adorable, I had to purchase the digital stamp for it! It took me a while, but I finally found the Country Snowman digital stamp at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps . To make this card... I used my Silhouette to cut out the frame, used "print & cut" for the sentiment and snow banks, and cut out the snowflakes using the  lpsnowflake font. I attempted to use the "print & cut" feature on my Silhouette software for the snowman .jpg image, but it would not cut it correctly... Can some one tell me why?! Is it some trick to make me buy the full version of the software?? I ended up just printing it and then cutting it out by hand. For the rest of the card, I embossed both the frame and the card, colored the snowman with colored pencils, and added diamond stickles to the embossed white dots...

With Sympathy {Card}

Image
With World Cardmaking Day coming up on October 6, I thought I'd share another card that I created recently. I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest {of course!} but due to time restrictions, I wasn't able to put as much effort into it as I would have liked to.  This card was easy to put together as it was mostly layering. I cut out the flower and stem on my new Silhouette Cameo. {which I absolutely LOVE!!} My font was  CAC Lasko Condensed . Through the enabling of my friend, Dottie, I finally purchased the small Sizzix embossing machine - I love it!! {Thanks, Dottie!} I only wish I had purchased it years ago! I'd love to find an embossing folder with small polka dots... anyone know where I can find one? I'm preparing for a birthday party this week {my oldest is turning 7!}, but hopefully, I'll be able to share a few more cards before WCMD.

Clean & Simple Thank You Card

Image
It's been a while since I've shared any of my papercrafting with you. I have been making cards regularly and even did some scrapbooking for our church missionary album. I'm anxious to complete the album so I might be able to get back to scrappin' for my self! :) This card was quick to put together... First of all, I printed off my sentiment, then from there, I simply scored lines in the appropriate places on the back of the cardstock so it would stand proud. I matted my patterned paper onto squares that were slightly larger and adhered them with 3-D foam squares. I also added the foam squares to the back of the sentiment block. The hardest part was all measuring to make sure I got things right! :)

Masculine Card

Image
I made this card for Father's Day, but it could easily serve as a masculine birthday card. I used my new Silhouette Cameo to design this card and it made things go so much quicker!! I love my Cameo!! I designed the little tie in my Silhouette software and then cut it out on different papers. For the sentiment, I used Silhouette's "print and cut" feature - amazing! I absolutely love that feature!! It took care of the problem I always have of getting my sentiment in the perfect place and having a perfectly cut square or rectangle.

Cards and an Amish Funeral

Image
With trying to finish up first grade with my little guy, my husband taking a trip to Connecticut for a week,  a Spring banquet, going to an Amish funeral, running a child to the doctor over a double ear infection and a bad case of pink eye, a newborn photo shoot, and just trying to keep things sane around the house... I've afraid I've neglected posting for far too long! Recently, I was asked to contribute a "handmade item" to a door prize for our church's Ladies Spring Banquet. Of course, I chose to make a set of cards. I got my inspiration from a card I saw here on Pinterest. I apologize for the poor photo quality. I was in hurry to turn them in for the door prize basket and had just come from a cold, windy day at the funeral of my Amish aunt. Yes, you read that right... I have Amish relatives. Before we go any further, let me clarify that no, I am NOT Amish! My parents were both born and raised in Old Order Amish families, but left the Amish religion ...

Masculine Card: Happy 16th

Image
For this card, I was inspired by this card I found via Pinterest . I wish I had allowed more time to do this design proper justice, but I had to throw it together in a hurry {again} so I wouldn't be late for the party. I was moderately pleased with the outcome.

Musical Birthday Card

Image
I made this card after being inspired by a card I found on a pretty blog here . Since the entire blog is in Russian, I have no idea what the blog post said, but I loved the card. I made this for my sweet little sister who is a fantastic pianist! Pin It

Milestone Birthday Card

MME Wild Asparagus "Cherish" kit; brown card stock; Thickers (for "30") I wanted to share this quick card with you today. I say "quick" because I was able to use parts of a card kit for this card and when pressed for time, that's a big life-saver! I used the Wild Asparagus "Cherish" card kit from MME , plus added a few elements of my own. I keep telling myself that I need to put together a card kit for my personal use... maybe one of these days I'll get to that! :) Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Photo Challenge #16: Something You Made

Image
Photography Challenge, week #16 Something You Made If you've followed my blog for any length of time, you know that I love papercrafts! I love scrapbooking and would do it more if time permitted. To get a "quick fix" I make cards. =) This card was a little more involved since it was a bi-fold card. I really enjoyed making it and will have to try one again soon. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great rest of the week! Next Week: Someone You Love

Card: Birthday Camp

Image
The oldest of my little nephews had his 4th birthday recently, so I decided to make a little interactive card for him. In between the normal daily routine, it took me several days to make this. When I decided what I wanted to do, I think that all the cutting, resizing and re-cutting, choosing colors, and just putting it all together would take so long! Most of the elements were from both Paper Dolls Cricut cartridges. The tent was from the svg file I found here ; I used SCAL to cut it out. Card Inside Inside, I placed a little "paper doll" camper roasting marshmallows outside his tent. The little man is laminated and removable, so he can be played with later. I had a lot of fun with all the little details of this card! I hope he enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it! Linking To... He was over 100 years old!

Image
It's been a while since I've found it necessary to make a sympathy card. I guess that's a good thing. Recently, some friends lost their father; he was over 100 yrs. old! This is the card I made for them. Supplies Sentiment: computer generated Stamps: Autumn Leaves (flowers) and Stampabilities (red dots) Punch: Fiskars border punches Cardstock: unknown Ribbon: unknown

Teen Boy Card

Image
Masculine cards are a challenge for almost all cardmakers. I've been trying to collect different ideas and designs to keep in my "database" of masculine card ideas. I had fun designing this card for my brother's 13th birthday. Materials: corrugated cardboard, packing paper (brown background), green cardstock, DCWV (printed paper), Thickers, Michael Strong Texturizing stamp , Heidi Grace stamp (sentiment) It's actually quite a simple design. The hardest part was tearing apart the corrugated cardboard! :) Have a happy, creative day! Linking to...

Tiny Miracle

Image
It's been a while since I have shared some of my creative works with you. Here is a card that I made a few months ago when my little (and only) niece was born. It was the first time that I used a border punch on the edge of the card like this and I must admit, it was a little tricky to get the back and front lined up just right. Papers: DCWV; Butterfly: cut out of Pressed Petals paper   Thanks for stopping by!  Have a terrific Tuesday!!

WCMD: Blue & Green Window Card

Image
Here's the second of the two cards I made for WCMD. The concept of design is the same as my other card , with the addition of adding a ribbon. I'm really loving the green/blue combo right now - it's so refreshing! Thanks for stopping by!

"Hello" Card

Image
During the month of March, I was able to work on a few things scrappy related. However, I neglected to post them to my blog! So, I'm playing a little catch up here... ;) This is a card I made for a challenge/contest on the scrapbooking message board I frequent. I received 2nd place for it! The frame, which I cut out using SCAL, is popped up with adhesive foam squares, as well as the butterflies. I also added some diamond stickles to the butterflies to give them a little something extra. The floral design in the center of the circle was stamped & then clear heat embossed. I hand-cut the little "hello" tag and then sanded the edges before stamping it. Cardstock: DCWV; Patterned Paper: Paper Pizzaz; Punches: Fiskars Threading Water & Martha Stewart butterfly; Bella's Baubles ; Ranger Diamond Stickles; Flowers: Unknown
