Clean & Simple Thank You Card

Image
It's been a while since I've shared any of my papercrafting with you. I have been making cards regularly and even did some scrapbooking for our church missionary album. I'm anxious to complete the album so I might be able to get back to scrappin' for my self! :) This card was quick to put together... First of all, I printed off my sentiment, then from there, I simply scored lines in the appropriate places on the back of the cardstock so it would stand proud. I matted my patterned paper onto squares that were slightly larger and adhered them with 3-D foam squares. I also added the foam squares to the back of the sentiment block. The hardest part was all measuring to make sure I got things right! :)

Masculine Card

I made this card for Father's Day, but it could easily serve as a masculine birthday card. I used my new Silhouette Cameo to design this card and it made things go so much quicker!! I love my Cameo!! I designed the little tie in my Silhouette software and then cut it out on different papers. For the sentiment, I used Silhouette's "print and cut" feature - amazing! I absolutely love that feature!! It took care of the problem I always have of getting my sentiment in the perfect place and having a perfectly cut square or rectangle.

I love the colors of Spring and Summer! I love it when I get a beautiful shot without much effort! This one has had no processing and is SOOC. Exif: ISO 400; 150mm; f/5.3; 1/1,600; Nikon D40; Lens: 55-200mm f/4-5.6

Cards and an Amish Funeral

Image
With trying to finish up first grade with my little guy, my husband taking a trip to Connecticut for a week,  a Spring banquet, going to an Amish funeral, running a child to the doctor over a double ear infection and a bad case of pink eye, a newborn photo shoot, and just trying to keep things sane around the house... I've afraid I've neglected posting for far too long! Recently, I was asked to contribute a "handmade item" to a door prize for our church's Ladies Spring Banquet. Of course, I chose to make a set of cards. I got my inspiration from a card I saw here on Pinterest. I apologize for the poor photo quality. I was in hurry to turn them in for the door prize basket and had just come from a cold, windy day at the funeral of my Amish aunt. Yes, you read that right... I have Amish relatives. Before we go any further, let me clarify that no, I am NOT Amish! My parents were both born and raised in Old Order Amish families, but left the Amish religion ...

Masculine Card: Happy 16th

For this card, I was inspired by this card I found via Pinterest . I wish I had allowed more time to do this design proper justice, but I had to throw it together in a hurry {again} so I wouldn't be late for the party. I was moderately pleased with the outcome.
